SUCCESS OF THE CROSS-BORDER MEETING TO BUILD THE 2024 ROADMAP OF THE PATH OF GOOD MEN
La Cerdanya has hosted an exchange trip between French and Catalan companies and entities related to Catalan establishments related to the Camí dels Bons Homes.
This meeting, organized by the Berguedà Development Agency and the Ariège Tourism Development Agency, brought together 10 French tourist establishments and 21 people from different Catalan companies and entities linked to the Camino.
This meeting focused on and expanded the knowledge of the tourist companies on the Camino on both sides of the border, about the tourist itinerary, the paths and existing resources, in order to increase the level of quality of the information they are offering to their clients. At the same time, the relational space between these companies has been enhanced, sharing experiences and ideas between the tourist service companies of Berguedà, Cerdanya and Ariège that operate in the cross-border crossing.
This meeting began by sharing the experiences of each company in relation to users of the crossing, and new ideas for actions for 2024 were generated by the Catalan companies on the Camino.
From here, several proposals emerged in relation to promotion, communication, the publication of material, the organization of activities, collaboration with prescribers, actions with European markets and different elements of customer loyalty, among other topics. On the same day, an excursion was also made along the GR 107 to the Vall de la Llosa, municipality of Lles de Cerdanya.
The second day was the cross-border meeting with the participation of companies and technicians from Ariège to promote mutual knowledge in order to better inform the user of the Path, learn and be inspired by learning about new business initiatives, take stock of the year 2023 and propose new ideas for the promotion of the route in 2024.
It was a good opportunity for the entrepreneurs of Ariège they got to know the municipalities of Cerdanya, and a guided tour was taken through Bellver de Cerdanya, Santa Maria de Talló and Prullans. The facilities of the Cerdanya Eco-Resort were also visited, to learn first-hand about their experiences in terms of sustainability and tourism innovation.
The participants have made a very positive assessment of this experience, while the foundations of the roadmap to work on for 2024 and beyond have been built. A big step to continue weaving a transregional and transnational network in improving the dynamization of the Camí dels Bons Homes.
Tourist establishments from the French department of took part in this event. l'Ariège, among tourist accommodations, represented by the Departmental Council of l'Ariège, the Fédération Française de Randonnée Pédestre (FFRP) and the person responsible of the Communauté de Communes de l'Haute Ariège. As well as Catalan accommodations on the route, guides, those responsible for Turisme Cerdanya, Cerdanya Regional Council, Bellver and Lles Town Councils, Cadí Moixeró Natural Park and the director of IDAPA.
