Location and How to get there 

The Camí dels Bons Homes runs between the mountains of the Catalan and French Pre-Pyrenees  and Pyrenees. The route covers the regions of Berguedà and Cerdanya in Catalonia, as well as the French department of Ariège.   The nearest major cities  are Barcelona, in Catalonia, and Toulouse, in France.

 

HOW TO GET THERE?

 

If you take the route in a south-north direction,  it begins  at the Queralt Sanctuary  some  8 km from Berga. Due to its location and height (1,200m) it offers unbeatable panoramic views. 

Here at the Queralt Sanctuary  there is a large free parking lot, where you can leave your vehicle to start the crossing and retrieve it at the end on the way back.

 

 

 

If you come by public transport, you have three different paths to climb from Berga  to the Sanctuary of Queralt. You can choose the les Capelles trail, the Obaga trail or the Sant Pere de Madrona trail, . It takes about 50  minutes on foot.

 

HOW TO RETURN?

Once you have finished  the route to Foix, you have the train that can take you  from Foix to the Tour de Carol . From here, you can link with the Renfe to  Puigcerdà or Barcelona.

 

You have to take the train  from Foix to the Tour de Carol and from here  connect with Renfe to go to Puigcerdà or Barcelona.  The TOULOUSE/LA TOUR DE CAROL train line serves all French stations near the Camí dels Bons Homes  (GR®107): Foix, Ax-les-Termes, Merens-les-Vals, Hospitalet, Porta, La Tour de Querol and Puigcerdà

All these stations have free parking.

Therefore,  if you only want to do a few French stages, it is possible to leave the car and return by train to the starting point.

We recommend that to correctly find the train schedule, at the Tour de Carol station you enter  “LATOUR DE CAROL ENVEITG (66)”

 

Other connections: TEISA operates the Girona-Manresa line, ALSA operates the Barcelona-Manresa-Berga-Bagà-Puigcerdà-Andorra line (or Llívia). ALSA also operates the Puigderdà-Bellver de Cerdanya line.

 

 

 

If you prefer, you can also return by taxi to any other location with the  Taxis associated with the Camí dels Bons homes trail  

These taxis are 4x4, with a capacity of 9 seats, and have the option of carrying bicycles.

Foix – Queralt. Price: 208€ (6 places)
