On horseback the way out  The best place to start is from Vilaformiu, an equestrian center.  very close to the city of Berga.

First stage through lonely places with remains of a mining past, leaving Central Catalonia behind to enter the Pre-Pyrenees, warning from the beginning of the hardness of this challenge.

The Sanctuary of Queralt is the starting point of this first stage of the Camí dels Bons Homes, a privileged viewpoint over all of Central Catalonia, all  and that it is recommended to start at HIpica de Vilaformiu. However, the route faces north from the start and after a first short descent, we will be at the beginning of the Figuerassa trail, with which we will gain altitude to the Coll d'Oreller (1412m) and Coll de les Nou Comes (1485m). Here begins a spectacular trail route, first descending and then gliding along an old mining train route that will even take us through one of its tunnels.

After crossing a couple of streams we will have to climb a very vertical section, before finding the path and track that will take us up to the abandoned town of Peguera and finally to the 1650m elevation, the highest point of today's route.

We will also continue on track without technical difficulties for the rest of the route, with the exception of three short sections of trail or trialera: the first one is downhill and a bit technical at kilometer 29. The second one is a steep climb, approaching the center of l'Espà. And finally the third one a little further on, after leaving the B-400 road we will have traveled along.  1.3km.

Along a track parallel to the road we will also reach Gósol, the end point of this first stage.
