MENJAR BLANC (MIDÓ AMB LLET AMETLLES)
Ingredients (for 6 people):
- 300 g raw almonds
- 1 l water
- 200 g sugar
- 50 g starch
- A lemon peel
- A cinnamon stick (or water from roses)
- Sugar
- Cinnamon powder
Preparation:
To make the almond milk, clean, chop and mix the almonds with water. Let the mixture sit overnight, strain it and you have almond milk.
Separate a little milk and put the rest on the stove with the cinnamon, sugar and lemon peel. Mix the starch with the milk you have reserved and, once well dissolved, add it to the rest. Stir until it boils. Once it starts to boil, remove it from the heat and place it in molds or small bowls. It is eaten cold, sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon powder.
